It is the Annual Double Tenth Day! This year, I am celebrating this holiday in Chinatown, New York.
Although the celebration of this holiday becomes more controversial in recent years, it is set to memorize the date of Wuchang uprising, the very first movement of Sun Yat-Sen's revolution, which eventually led to the birth of Republic of China.
It was a historic moment for us, as a native Taiwanese, since it ultimately led to the establishment of my peaceful and democratic country. Had it not been the sacrifice from our ancestors, we would not have been this fortunate to live in this beautiful country.
It was really emotional to see our flags fluttering in the air in New York. It is always proud to say that I am a Taiwanese. I believe one day we will be recognized by the world. #UNITY #WeAreTheSame
